“I have stayed at the Serena several times over the past 20 years. In fact, of the 80 countries I have visited the Serena in Mombasa is still my favorite place in the world. The staff, including front dest staff (namely, Althuman) and the wait staff are outstanding. Many are long-term staff who have obviously been well-trained in customer service. The Maisha Spa is always worth a visit. The property is beginning to show signs of aging so I hope there are plans to upgrade it, while not loosing its……

“The hotel was clean but very dated. We stayed 4 nights and saw about 15 other guests the entire time we were there. It was eerie to feel so alone on such a large resort. The main pool was “under maintenance” and totally green. I feel as though this should have been disclosed prior to our arrival. Also, if it truly was under maintenance, we didn’t see any maintenance being performed in our 5 day/4 night stay. This resort has very little to do after sunset, pools close at 6pm. “A wonderful boutique hotel, in the heart of Mombasa. This place is pristine: Room, restaurant, and all other amenites. All i know is that when in Mombasa, Premium Inn will be my first Choice. “I stayed at Hotel Sapphire for one night last week, and unfortunately the experience fell below expectations. The first room had an unpleasant smell and no hot water. We were moved to a better room, but the next morning there was again no hot water, which was particularly disappointing for such a basic hotel service. Breakfast was fairly average, and many of the staff appeared to be trainees or interns, which may have contributed to the inconsistency in service. My wife and I also used the……

“Terrible. Nothing's works and the entire hotel is not maintained with old rusting features. The hotels rooms are very noisy all the way till 3am as there are on going parties every day. I was not able to sleep till after 4am everyday. Terrible experience. I would not recommend this hotel.”

“There are no elevators so you walk up the stairs with your luggage. There is no shower head, only a handheld shower with the thinnest of water to shower with. Breakfast was…. very regular at 1-star level. It’s not worth the cost! ”
